Union Center is a medical/dental use office building in suburban Salt Lake City. Special design attention was given to the center atrium in creating a garden space that included magnolia trees, which are rare in the Utah climate. The space is designed to be solar tempered throughout winter and in summer the plants like the moist evaporative cooling combined with automated opening glass ventilation panels. The design was done in association with Knudsen and Paul Architects.
