CO2 CAFE

The CO2 Café project was a renovation of an 1890 brick building into a restaurant on Main Street in Salt Lake City. The building had been empty for more than 50 years before the project began. The goal throughout the design process was to transform the building into a lively, open space. To achieve the desired goal the unique design included opening full building width doors at both ends to allow for an indoor/outdoor dining experience. Because of the historic nature of the structure, it was a challenge to meet structural, ADA, budget, function, and the owner’s requirements in the unusual space.
